“Bridger is the first four-year student of Mr. [Victor] Hardesty’s to serve as a state officer,” said Bridget Frank, SV FFA Assistant Advisor. “We congratulate him on his election.”
Local chapter administrators were invited to the convention as special guests. Josh Frazier, who serves SVHS as Assistant Principal, accepted the invitation to attend and was able to watch two sessions, observe part of the Horse Evaluation CDE, and participate in judging the Ag Sales CDE. “This was a great opportunity for Mr. Frazier to see just how much goes on in FFA,” Frank said. “We appreciate his willingness to attend and support our chapter.” Wolfley and fellow SV FFA member Gracie Jackson performed a vocal duet during the second Convention session.
Senior officers Samantha Bramwell and Colton Messerly attended two Delegate Session of the convention, “where they discussed proposed changes on the State level, and voted on them.”
Bramwell volunteered as a student of the new Agriculture Education CDE, to learn more about the CDE contest and participate next year. As part of her work there, she participated in the “Ag in the Classroom” experience, in which 12 FFA members were given a lesson plan and instructed on teaching process and then shared the lesson with 4th grade students at a Laramie elementary school.
Additionally, these students participated in 10 different competitions at the regional and state levels as part of the convention. SV FFA Advisor Victor Hardesty was pleased with his chapter’s performance and effort. “The students put in a lot of hard work and dedication in the CDE/LDE competitions. They showed great leadership at the convention and look forward to next year’s event. Bridger showed excellence and became our new state reporter, and a few seniors are hanging up their corduroy for the last time this year. Such a great group! Congratulations to them all!”
