The applicant list for an open board position with Lincoln County School District No. 2 (LCSD No. 2) has been released. The open position came about after the resignation of Kade Wilkes in the April 9, 2025 meeting. Wilkes had previously been appointed after winning the Area 1 election in November of 2024. 

According to LCSD No. 2, the applicant list for those trying to be appointed to the position for Area 1 include: Tim Teichert, Todd Dayton, Michael Kelly, Lenn Johnson, Mark Vierig and Brian McClure. Interviews for these candidates will take place on May 7.

LCSD No. 2 has stated that applicants will receive the interview questions via e-mail by noon on Wednesday, May 7 and that interviews will be held in public session. The board’s decision as to who they will appoint will be streamed online and the public portion of the meeting will be recorded and uploaded following the end of the meeting. 

The new appointed candidate will be sworn in prior to the next regular board meeting scheduled for May 14.
