Star Valley Health held a Telephone Town Hall on Thursday, May 8 to discuss the current financial status of the hospital, it’s future and answer questions from the community. Hospital leadership was on the call, including CEO Dan Ordyna, COO Mike Hunsaker, CFO Scott Graham and other. Questions ranged from EMS services, status of the Alpine Clinic and services, billing and more. Below is a full recording.
Thank you for providing this townhall meeting. Regarding the four million dollar increase in your employee health care claims, a fifty percent increase. This seems astronomical and I would like to know what has caused it. You have added 200 jobs and 25 new medical personnel. Is that a fifty percent increase in employees? Let us address the elephant in the room. Why have claims increased in such an astronomical way?
