Rumors that a school bus caught on fire Friday afternoon on not true, according to Lincoln County School District No. 2.

Superintendent Matt Erickson told SVI News that on Friday afternoon, May 9, the brakes overheated on a bus in the lower valley. “The driver shot the fire extinguisher out of an abundance of caution,” Erickson said.

According to Superintendent Erickson, no students were on the bus at the time.
