
• Advisors saw the highest number of candidates in five years of elections
The student body at Star Valley High School elected 2025-26 Student Body Officers last week. New SBO Officers include President Janey Young, Vice President Hallie Hokanson, Secretary Bria Jack and Treasurer Italy Erickson. All of the new officers will be seniors next year and will lead the student body under the direction of Tyson Balls and Adam Baker.
Election week was “very, very busy with SBO and class elections along with what I believe was the busiest Prom I have seen in 3 years,” said SVHS Principal, Farren Haderlie, in an email with SVI Media on Monday, praising to Balls and Baker for their leadership and service to the students.
“We had a great week of elections with the highest number of students running for office I’ve seen in the last five years,” said Balls in an email to SVI Media on Monday. “The kids had a great week campaigning.” With two campaign assemblies and other extra activities, “students got outside of their comfort zone and really tried to reach out to their classmates.”
Class officers were also elected. Senior officers include President Harper Sessions, Vice President Tayt Lawson and Secretary Chris Crowther. Junior officers include President Kimball Parry, Vice President Brooke Suter and Secretary Nathen Haderlie.
Sophomore officers include President Chuck Erickson, Vice President Raiden Haderlie
And Secretary Kellsie Dunne. Freshman officers include Anson Young, Vice President Paige Gamble and Secretary Sawyer Crook
“I’m really excited about this group of student leaders,” said Balls. “They seem very excited about making an impact for the better on our school and this community.”
