The Afton Golf Course Pond will host the Wyoming Game and Fish Star Valley Kids Fishing Day, Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon.

Star Valley youth are invited to “get hooked on fishing” at the annual Kids Fishing Day.

The Afton Kids Fishing Day event is hosted by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Bridger-Teton National Forest Service and the Star Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Jackson Hole One Fly, Game and Fish, and Wild Wyoming Outfitters will provide fishing rods and bait, which kids can take home.

Additionally, Saturday, June 7, 2025, marks Wyoming’s Free Fishing Day, allowing anyone to fish statewide without a license or Conservation Stamp, though all other fishing regulations and limits remain in effect. More information on Free Fishing Day can be found in the Wyoming fishing regulations booklet.

Kids Fishing Day events are held throughout Wyoming as part of National Fishing and Boating Week. For a list of all other events, please visit the Game and Fish website.

Kids Fishing Day in Jackson will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 7, at R Park, between Jackson and Wilson.

The Kids Fishing Day event in Jackson will feature learning stations and a free hot dog lunch at noon, courtesy of the Jackson Hole Lions Club, Creekside Market, and U.S. Foods. Kids who complete learning stations will receive free fishing gear, provided by Jackson Hole One Fly, Game and Fish, and the Teton County Conservation District. Activities will continue until 2:00 pm, after which families can stay to fish on their own.
