A transformative vision has come to life in Star Valley, thanks to local entrepreneur Michael Horn. He approached talented artist Val Chadwick Bagley with a simple request: “I have this big dark wall. I don’t like it. I want some kind of photo opportunity there for people.”

Michael’s goal was clear: to create a space where visitors could capture their memories. “When they come in, I want them to take a picture,” he emphasized. Inspired by this vision, Val quickly conceived an idea that would resonate with both locals and tourists.

“I envisioned a mountain range with happy sun rays and the words ‘Star Valley,’” Val shared. This mural would become a vibrant backdrop for countless photographs, offering visitors a tangible piece of the valley to take home. As Val painted, he imagined families posing against the mural, creating lasting memories. “They could take a picture and then get family T-shirts saying ‘Star Valley,’” he reflected.

Incorporating the Swift Creek Trading sign into the design ensured Michael’s business played a key role in this visual narrative. The mural not only enhances the tourist experience but also boosts business opportunities for Swift Creek Trading, particularly SwiftWear.

Standing at an impressive 14 feet tall and 14 feet wide, the mural is a grand canvas for Val’s creativity. He carefully measured the wall and took a photograph to trace over, ensuring every detail was flawless. Remarkably, he completed the entire piece in just one day.

What makes this mural unique is its reversible design. The mountains can be flipped to reveal a breathtaking scene of snow-covered peaks for the winter months. Since its unveiling on April 7, the mural has become a photo opportunity for all, inviting visitors and locals to capture the essence of Star Valley.

“Head in, take a picture, and get yourself a Star Valley shirt,” Michael encourages, welcoming everyone to stop by. Visitors can also sign the guest book, which already has over 100 entries, and follow @SwiftCreekTrading on Instagram for updated information. Through their collaboration, Michael and Val have transformed a once-bleak wall into a memorable experience for all, promoting Star Valley and Swift Creek Trading.
