Rowena Buehler, Mrs. Wyoming America 2024, is hosting a family event of food and fun on Friday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside Carpets Plus Colortile at 627 Aullman Road in Thayne. All proceeds from the event benefit Libertas International.
Having served as Mrs. Star Valley prior to being crowned Mrs. Wyoming America, Buehler has been a champion for Libertas International in the nonprofit’s fight against human trafficking. Libertas International works diligently to provide aid to Latin American survivors of human trafficking and actively seeks justice against perpetrators.

In her work to benefit Libertas and the survivors that the organization supports, Buehler has had the honor of meeting founder Tyler Schwab and one of the survivors that the organization supports. She has worked to raise funds that go directly toward medical treatment, food, clothing, lodging, travel costs, education, and career advancement for the survivors who are in the care of the Libertas organization. Her efforts have raised nearly $8,000 for the nonprofit, with $5,000 of that coming directly through the efforts of Carpet’s Plus and the Buehler Family.
The first 20 girls to arrive at the event on Friday will receive a tiara as a gift from Carpets Plus and Buehler, who is making her final official appearance as Mrs. Wyoming America at this event. “We will have a photo booth, the Wok [Teriyaki Grill], bounce houses for adults and kids, drinks, and a bake sale with a ton of goodies that have been donated,” said Buehler. Baked goods include “chocolate chip cookies, double chocolate chip cookies and brownies, all homemade and very delicious.” The baked goods offered also include locally crafted sourdough bread.
SVI Media is scheduled to broadcast the event live through Swift 98 and Carpets Plus is offering a “big summer remnant sale. If anyone needs flooring at crazy discounted prices, we will have a ton of flooring available for purchase and all the proceeds of this event are being donated to Libertas.”
Buehler made it clear that human trafficking is a “horrible industry. We are doing this fundraiser to help the survivors that are in the care of Libertas. I wholeheartedly believe that this is such a worthy cause. These young girls have been through truly horrendous things, and the least we can do is give back to them. This event is a really good way to connect with your family, doing something fun while also supporting a cause that is meaningful. I know that this is going to be super fun. It’s going to be a good time for the community to get out and enjoy some sunshine.”
