Star Valley Search & Rescue continues looking for Ned Eddins, 93, of Afton who was last seen on Saturday, June 7. Eddins was reported as missing to police on Tuesday, resulting in a search up Swift Creek Canyon east of Afton.

According to a family member, Eddins was riding his ebike with his camera to take pictures of animals. His bike and camera were found halfway submerged in the water near the reservoir.  Star Valley Search & Rescue has been searching the area since.

“They have an area that they are focusing on, but it’s very hard to safely get to,” said Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson. “We want to make sure we don’t lose somebody else in the river in the process.”

Commander Matt McMurdo with the Star Valley Search & Rescue said the search is still active. “We’re reaching out to our counterparts in Bonneville County, Idaho to see about possibly getting a dive team,” said McMurdo.

“We are trying to avoid having a bunch of the public going up there which will just slow things down,” stated Sheriff Johnson.
