Body of missing Afton man found and recovered from Swift Creek

The body of a missing 93-year-old man from Afton was found and recovered by Star Valley Search Rescue Thursday afternoon. Commander Matt McMurdo said Ned Eddins was found deceased in the river up Swift Creek Canyon.
According to a family member Eddins was last seen on Saturday, June 7 when he road his e-bike up the canyon to take pictures. He was reported missing to police Tuesday, June 10 after his bike was found near the reservoir area of the canyon. Star Valley Search & Rescue responded to the scene Tuesday but was unable to locate Eddins until his body was found in the river Thursday. High, fast water in Swift Creek made the search difficult for rescuers as they carefully searched for three days.
“We truly appreciate all the hard work of our search and rescue volunteers,” said Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson. “Our thoughts are with Ned’s family.”
