
Two small wildfires west of Palisades Reservoir were reported and contained Monday, August 18.
Both fires were burning in Bonneville County, Idaho. The Sulphur Fire near Poker Peak was contained to just .1 acre in size and was reported late Monday morning. Full containment was reported at 3:00 Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Edwards Creek Fire burned near the shore of the reservoir across from the Blow Out Boat Ramp. The fire was also held to just .1 acre with full containment reported shortly after 5:00 p.m.
The cause of the fires have not been reported.
The Swan Valley Fire Department, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Forest Service staged at Blow Out Boat Ramp where they crossed the reservoir to fight the fires.
