Salt River Community Theater has issued an audition call for the annual production of Michael McLean’s beloved “The Forgotten Carols.” Auditions are scheduled for Wednesday evening, September 24, on the stage of the historic Ford Theatre from 5-7 p.m.

This year’s show director, Jessica Rasmussen, who starred as Constance in last year’s production of The Forgotten Carols, is looking for “people that love story telling and love the Christmas Spirit and have a love of Christmas memories and want to participate in telling this beautiful story.”

“The Forgotten Carols” musical shares a tale of redemption and healing for a woman whose heart was broken long ago and chose to prioritize the demands of her career over family and relationships.  She finds peace and hope through the stories of less prominent characters in the Christmas Story.

The show requires several actors, potentially playing more than one role, and offers several opportunities for smaller roles. Interested parties should come to the audition prepared to sing a Christmas carol and read from the script.

“My favorite thing about this show is the story from each character,” said Rasmussen “The story of where people came from. If you love storytelling and Christmas and singing and having fun, “The Forgotten Carols” is a great place to start as part of a wonderful story.”
