Community Awareness Training session scheduled

 

In light of recent events, including the Willow Creek Fire, Lincoln County Emergency Management is hosting an essential training session aimed at enhancing community awareness and preparedness. This informative event will take place on October 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Afton Civic Center, located at 150 Washington St, Afton, WY 83110. Participants will gain valuable insights into several crucial topics, including a brief synopsis of the Willow Creek Fire response and an exploration of the various hazards that our area is susceptible to, including some that may not be widely recognized.

Additionally, attendees will learn how to ensure they receive emergency notifications and understand the different systems in place for timely information during emergencies. Practical ideas for developing emergency plans tailored for families, businesses, and the community will also be discussed, along with an overview of how local governments collaborate in disaster response and coordination efforts.
