The process of changing the signs welcoming people to Alpine started in 2019 when costs were reviewed for a community improvement project.
“We saw the opportunity when we got the Travel and Tourism Board approved for Alpine, so we applied for grant, Melody Leseberg, public works administrator reported.
The sign proposal was distributed to different sign companies and examples were submitted back to the board for consideration.
Leseberg credited Eric Green for the new community look. “Mayor Green came up with the new logo,” she said. “That got implemented into the sign.”
The signs are made out of a composite material designed to serve the community for the next 20 years.
The signs are located at three locations for Alpine, the main roads coming from Afton, Jackson and Idaho.
