Alpine’s K-6 charter school moved forward with a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 23. For Alpine’s community education board member, Dave Jenkins, bringing the school together has been a long process. “It’s been a long journey to get here and lots of people believing in the future of our community, the future of our families and our children,” he said in a statement released to SVI Media. “I am grateful for these types of people that we get to share our world with.
Mayor Eric Green released a formal letter, read by education board member Meredith Leonard.
“What an exciting day for Alpine! Today you are not just breaking ground on a new school — it is the start of something that will shape the future of our kids and our community.
The Alpine Classical Academy began as a dream — a place where students can grow in knowledge, character, and purpose. Thanks to the hard work and belief of so many people, that dream is becoming real.
This school will be a great benefit to the Town of Alpine. It will bring new families to our community, create jobs, and give local students more opportunities to learn and grow right here at home. It’s another step in making Alpine an even better place to live, raise a family, and invest in the future.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Congratulations!!”
Modular units will be placed at the location near the Alpine Town Hall, Library and Fire Department.
