Star Valley High School students spent the day before Thanksgiving rendering service to people and organizations in the community. Students were bussed to various locations in the valley, where they helped with several projects and supported folks and animals in need of a helping hand.

Cheerleaders and basketball players visited Afton and Osmond Elementary Schools. Brave Cadettes and volleyball players served at the Star Valley Middle School and Afton Care Center.  Football team members stocked shelves at the Afton Food Bank. Wrestlers, freshman football players, girls’ basketball players, Star Valley FFA and Life Skills students completed wood projects in Osmond, Fairview, Grover, Smoot and Star Valley Ranch.  The Speech and Debate Team served at Thayne Elementary School, while physical education students volunteered at Lucky’s Place.

Principal Farren Haderlie is proud of his students and grateful for the community’s continued support. “We just want to thank our community for all they do for us. Star Valley High School is certainly a better place because of their support, and we feel very fortunate to live in such a great community. For us, Braves in Action is a day we can get out and serve others in a variety of ways.  We would like to thank our local food banks, Lucky’s Place, our elementary and middle schools, Western Wyoming Timber Services, care centers, and many others for allowing our staff and students to be with you.  So many kids came back to us with a big smile on their face from spending time out in the community serving others.  It was a pleasure and honor to be a part of it.”
