SHERIDAN (WNE) — The Wyoming Press Association Board of Directors last week announced that Steve Kiggins will be its next executive director.
Kiggins began work with the WPA on Nov. 3.
His experience in the news industry includes two stints as the interim editor for the Casper Star-Tribune. He has also worked at the national level as an editor at USA Today and Paladin Multi-Media.
Prior to that, he worked for the University of Wyoming from 2007 to 2013, where he started as communications director for UWYO magazine before becoming managing editor.
Kiggins was selected by the WPA Hiring Committee, which included WPA Vice President Adam Meyer, Past President Jen Sieve-Hicks and board members Erik Bergquist and Ashleigh Snoozy.
The board expressed its thanks to outgoing Executive Director Darcie Hoffland for her work for the association over the past eight years. Hoffland championed the growth of several WPA programs, including statewide and digital advertising.
