Hunger rates are at a 10-year high in Wyoming, resulting in a 33% increase in Food Bank of Wyoming’s food distribution over the last four years. In 2025, Food Bank of Wyoming distributed 12.2 million pounds of food — equivalent to 10.2 million meals — to neighbors in need. As a challenging year comes to a close, Food Bank of Wyoming reflects on their 2025 impact and looks ahead at its 2026 goals.

This past year, Food Bank of Wyoming was there for neighbors when they needed food support most, providing an average of 28,052 meals each day. The Food Bank also grew its team, established an advisory council, and reached significant milestones in food distribution. Explore the 2025 highlights and learn more about plans for 2026.

A Growing Team to Fight Food Insecurity

In 2025, Food Bank of Wyoming strengthened its team with the addition of a new Executive Director, Programs Manager, and Director of Development — strategic hires that position the Food Bank for even greater impact in the years ahead. These women join a robust roster of leaders and dedicated staff whose expertise and commitment drove significant progress throughout the year.

“I am honored to have stepped into the role of Executive Director this year and excited to deepen relationships with the many Wyoming communities I have lived in and explored throughout my life. I am proud to lead an organization that understands the unique needs and challenges of food insecurity in our state — one that recognizes that relationships and community are truly at the heart of our work,” says Executive Director Danica Sveda.

Adds, Olivia Schon Food Bank of Wyoming’s new Director of Development, ““I’m thrilled to be joining Food Bank of Wyoming as the new Director of Development at such an important moment for our organization and our state. Having lived in and explored many Wyoming communities, I’m excited to build meaningful relationships with the partners, donors, and supporters who make this work possible. I’m proud to be part of a team that truly understands the unique challenges of food insecurity in Wyoming and knows that strong relationships and a deep sense of community are at the heart of everything we do.”

Advisory Council Brings Fresh Insight Into Hunger Relief

In 2025, Food Bank of Wyoming established its first-ever advisory council, bringing together nine Wyomingites from across the state to provide strategic insight, regional perspectives, and community-driven guidance. The council supports partnership-building, resource advocacy, and long-term planning to advance the Food Bank’s mission of nourishing Wyomingites facing hunger. Since launching, these dedicated leaders have lent their expertise to Food Bank of Wyoming and will no doubt play a key role in expanding access to nutritious food and addressing the root causes of hunger for years to come.

FRESH Express Route Now Reaches Every County in Wyoming

The FRESH Express Route reached two major milestones in 2025. The innovative distribution model now serves every county in Wyoming and has delivered more than one million pounds of fresh produce since its launch in 2023. One Hunger Relief Partner in the final county added to the Fresh Express Route had this to say:

I want to thank everyone at Food Bank of Wyoming for all you do and for allowing us to be a partner. Today, we again had tables full of food items that we received from you all. Not only have we seen an uptick in families coming in but we have noticed that the volume of items that they are taking has increased as well. So, thanks so, so much for helping us help our families!” – Boys and Girls Club of Sweetwater County.

Looking ahead to 2026, Food Bank of Wyoming will continue to optimize delivery routes for even greater efficiency and sustainability while strengthening support for Hunger Relief Partners.
