Ford Theatre hosts evening of Love Letter in Song

Though Valentine’s Day is in the history books, February remains the month of love, and Salt River Arts has prepared their first Love Letters in Song variety show for February 27 at 7 p.m. on the Ford Theatre stage. Performers submitted auditions though last Monday, and fans can expect an evening filled with many of the world’s all-time favorite love songs,

According to director, Jessica Rasmussen, “performers will sing love songs that they have prepared from movies and musicals,” including selections from Tangled, Pinocchio, and Rent. Fans can also expect pieces from contemporary vocalists like Colbie Caillat and Ane Brun.

Ford Producer, Jaclyn Lechner, was inspired to create the show as the Salt River Arts works year-round to provide art entertainment to the community and to maintain funding for renovation efforts at the near century-old building.

Scheduled performers for the show include, among others, Brittany Andrus, members of the James and Daphne Arbizu Family, Diane Forsyth, Eli Henderson, Daniel Lechner, James and Jessica Rasmussen, and Megan Rose.

“We are excited to share a little love with the community through music and song,” said Rasmussen. “We hope you’ll come join us for a showcase of timeless love songs!”

Tickets are available at the door or can be purchased in advance by visiting saltriverarts.com.
