Coming back from the holiday break the Lady Braves wrestlers put together a strong outing on Saturday at the MC Filly Invitational at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah.

The Lady Braves scored 196 team points, trailing just the host team Fillies who won with 227.5. Individually, Remi Aullman, Cara Andrews and Brooke Schwab each won their bracket. Coach Jeff Anderson highlighted Pullman’s dominant performance as she won the vote for most outstanding wrestler and continued her unbeaten streak.

“The whole team impressed me with their effort coming off Christmas Break practices,” he said. “It’s a close knit team of girls who represent their school and families so well. Some girls have been sick, out of town, or dealing with injury but the heart they showed is next to none. Their matside support blows me away every time. Our community has so much to be proud of.”

In addition to the champions, the Lady Braves had a total of nine placers in the varsity tournament. Carlee Angell and Settelly Roberts placed third with Keladry Johnson, Oakley Hepworth, Paisley Horback and O’Reilly Morris placing fourth.

“It takes a team effort to do as well as we did and every wrestler on the team makes a contribution that we want to celebrate,” Anderson added.

The program will be back in the Beehive State this weekend on Friday and Saturday for tournament action at Herriman High School.
