The Town of Afton invites the community to an Open House on January 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Afton Civic Center, where the results of the highly anticipated Corridor Study will be presented. This study, focusing on traffic patterns in the downtown area—specifically between 4th and 5th Avenue—aims to enhance the flow of traffic and improve public safety.

Mayor Jeff Jensen discussed the importance of this study in an interview on the Weekday Wake-up, noting it was conducted in collaboration with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT). The findings will address key issues such as traffic flow, crosswalks, and potential signage modifications, all of which are necessary for any planned changes. As required by WYDOT, significant alterations to signage and traffic flow must be supported by comprehensive studies.

“We’ve had a preliminary look at it, and WYDOT has reviewed it as well,” Mayor Jensen explained. The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to discuss these findings and gain an understanding of the proposed changes.

This open house is not just a presentation—it’s an opportunity for the community to engage directly with local officials and provide feedback on the findings. Residents can express their concerns, ask questions, and voice their suggestions regarding the study outcomes.

The January 14 open house is an opportunity for the community to learn about important developments between 4th and 5th Avenue and to have their voices heard. The Town of Afton encourages community members to attend this event, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute to the planning and improvement of Main Street.
