BYU’s Young Ambassadors dance into town Saturday

Thirty musical dance theater students and technicians from Brigham Young University arrive in Afton on Saturday, January 17 to present the Young Ambassadors current show, “Imagine,” in the Star Valley High School auditorium at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:15.

Sponsored by the Star Valley Arts Council, “Imagine” offers an “unforgettable night of music, dance, and storytelling,” states starvalleyarts.org. With the show “featuring 20 of Brigham Young University’s most elite student performers, this dynamic production promises to captivate audiences with its powerful themes and exhilarating performances.”

The Young Ambassadors are a Musical Dance Theater touring team that offers a high energy show presenting Broadway and contemporary favorites. For 55 years, they have taken their vibrant programs to over 70 nations throughout the world, showcasing vocal and dance numbers in a themed show that offers high quality and high energy entertainment for the entire family.

Nathan Balser, who serves as the Artistic Director of the Young Ambassadors, told SVI Media that the touring team took their show to Brazil in May and to China in August. “These students are about to graduate and a lot of them are headed to New York City. They can sing with the best of them and their voices are amazing! We have incredible dancers, too. This is high energy and a really fun show.”

According to youngambassadors.byu.edu, “Imagine” is a “vibrant and uplifting experience that takes the audience on a rollercoaster of emotions through a series of song and dance numbers for a fast-paced showcase of American pop and musical theatre. “Imagine” mixes the classics with a touch of the new. The show features songs from popular artists including Queen, Elvis, and Adele, as well as musical theater favorites from Broadway musicals like ‘Singin’ In The Rain’, ‘Wicked’, and ‘The Notebook’.”

Star Valley Arts Council’s Executive Director, Lxi Weber, promises that “Imagine” offers “something for everyone. This is one you will want to see for sure!”
