The Star Valley Chamber of Commerce has named Wyoming Gun Fighter as its February Business of the Month, spotlighting a local firearms retailer that opened on July 4, 2021, and has quickly become a go-to shop for shooters across the valley.

“Really, the goal was to be a little bit different than most Wyoming FFLs,” general manager Dave Schuler shared. “We do a bit more of modern guns, defensive rifles, and handguns, but we also do a lot of hunting rifles. The other thing was just having a place locally where you can get suppressors.”

Wyoming Gun Fighter is located next to the Chevron in Alpine, on the left as you head north. The shop specializes in Class III firearms — items regulated under federal law that include suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns — and operates an in-house digital suppressor process. Schuler noted a recent regulatory change has removed the $200 tax stamp previously required for suppressors, a development he said is important to local customers.

In addition to selling modern defensive firearms and hunting rifles, the store offers consignment services and carries surplus guns. “We do a lot of consignment. I’ve got some really cool surplus guns right now,” Schuler said. The shop also partners with local builder Dark Horse Firearms to sell custom-built AR-15 and AR-10 rifles to customers’ specifications, fits optics and accessories, and advises buyers on the best handgun or rifle for their needs. “One of the things we like to do is getting the right handguns in the right hands,” he added. “If you need a gun, you need a transfer. Got a gun to sell? Come see us, and we can help you.”

Wyoming Gun Fighter stocks the most common ammunition and can special-order less common rounds. “Most ammo is available, and it’s probably not going to get much cheaper than it is now,” Schuler said, noting prices fluctuate with global events.

Schuler encouraged residents to support local Federal Firearms Licensees and emphasized the shop’s role in legal transfers. “Support your local FFL. We are needed to do transfers because of federal firearms laws, and we are big supporters of the Second Amendment.”

Customers can reach Wyoming Gun Fighter by phone at 307-654-4846, by email at ffl.wygunfighter.com, or via the shop’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
