• Cade Thompson’s design chosen to represent Cokeville
The Lincoln County Semiquincentennial Celebration Task Force has been working hard to prepare for this summer’s activities. Part of the celebration will be each community having an opportunity to have a coin designed with their town represented on one side and the county on the other.
The Cokeville community took the opportunity and worked with Mya Thornock, the art teacher at Cokeville High School to get the youth involved. There were 26 students that participated, and all designs were on display at the town hall.
Each council member was to look at each of the designs that were submitted over several weeks and come to the January 13 meeting with their top picks. Junior Cade Thompson’s design was chosen unanimously by the council.
“Thanks to Mya for spearheading the execution of this on the school level,” said Mayor Colby Peck.
