The Star Valley Braves are on the road Tuesday night as they face off against Rigby in dual action. Varsity matches are expected to begin at approximately 6 p.m. There will be no announcer for this event.
Parry and Hoopes win Richardson titles.

The Star Valley Braves competed in the 27-team Richardson Memorial in Brigham City, Utah at Box Elder High School, placing fourth among the programs in attendance. The Braves finished with 137.5 team points while the host school won the team title with 197.5. South Summit was second with 184.5 and Layton was third 149.5.
Individually, Caleb Lawrence (120), Kimball Parry (138), Tel Parry (144) and Cael Hoopes all advanced to the finals with Kimball Parry and Cael Hoopes winning their respectively brackets.
“I thought we wrestled pretty well,” said head coach Eddie Clark. “We placed fourth with our varsity and first with our JV. Those kids in the final wrestled outstanding. For them to get there was a big accomplishment. Our guys just battled hard. We’re excited about that. Some of our kids who missed a lot during the break were a little out of gas but we will fix that.”
Up next for the Braves will be an away dual against Rigby on January 13 followed by the traditional Tiger-Grizz Invite in Idaho Falls on January 16-17. SVI Media will have coverage of Star Valley wrestling on Saturday of the tournament.
“The Utah and Idaho schedules didn’t mesh very well together, so we don’t really know who is coming,” Clark said of the Tiger-Grizz. “All of Eastern Idaho will be there and the Boise schools. And since Idaho won everything in Fargo, it will be tough. But we just go wrestle. Some of the best schools in Idaho will be there. It’s gonna be tough.”
