• Oliverson and Wayment log fastest local finishes

The 22nd Annual El Vaquero Loco took place this past Saturday as ultramarathoners from the area and outside the state tested themselves among the scenic backdrop of the Salt River Range.

In the 50K (31 miles) the top time came from Zachary Van Abbema of Idaho Falls who finished the course in a time of 5:21:56. This was nearly 16 minutes ahead of second place, Josh Reddish of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The top local time went to Colby Wayment of Afton who was fifth overall and a time of 5:59.23. The top female finisher for the race was Briana Ulanowski-Smyer of Idaho Falls who finished with a time of 6:39.37.

Tanner Singleton of West Jordan, Utah had the fastest time in the 31K (19 miles) race with a finish of 3:16:12. Daniel Merritt of Powell was second with a time of 3:40:27. The top local finisher was next with a third place finish as Maven Oliverson ran a 3:45:35. The top female finisher, Anne Struble of Alta, Wyoming, was also fifth overall.
