A second earthquake has occurred west of Thayne, this time on Sunday evening. The United State Geological Service reports that the magnitude 3.0 quake took place at 10:03 p.m. Sunday, February 2. The location was roughly 2.5 miles of Thayne near South Fork Miller Creek on the Idaho side of the border.
The earthquake followed a magnitude 2.4 that occurred in the same area just before 11:00 p.m. on Friday evening, January 31.
