Star Valley FFA Alumni offers raffle to support State members in need

• Winner will take home a 2024 John Deere Utility Vehicle

The Star Valley FFA Alumni Chapter is collaborating with the Wyoming FFA Association and RDO Equipment Company to offer a fundraising raffle opportunity, giving community members a chance to win a 2024 John Deere XUV825M S4 Crossover Utility Vehicle and support their local FFA chapter. Proceeds from the raffle will partially go toward a relief fund for FFA members who are in financial need.

Tickets are $20, or six tickets can be purchased for $100. Ticket proceeds will be divided three ways with $10 from each ticket going to the local FFA chapter, $8 going to the Wyoming FFA Association, and $2 going to the Wyoming FFA Member Relief Fund. Local chapters will also have the option to donate additional money from their portion of the raffle proceeds toward the Member Relief Fund.

The Wyoming State Officer Team designed the project and invited RDO Equipment Company to partner with them in the effort to create the relief fund, which “is for members who maybe have a house fire, have medical bills,” or a variety of other challenging financial demands, said Bridget Frank, Star Valley FFA Assistant Advisor.  “RDO donated the side-by-side” and created this opportunity to generate “emergency funds that may be needed for Wyoming FFA students.”

According to the event flyer, “This is an opportunity to win a really cool ATV while supporting local and state agriculture education! We would like to encourage the community to participate in this raffle and support their local FFA students.”

Cash purchases of raffle tickets can be made at the Bank of Star Valley branches in Afton, Thayne, and Alpine. Card purchases can be made using the QR code on the event flyer, with a note that Star Valley as the chapter being supported.

The Star Valley FFA Alumni chapter was reassociated in December of 2024, and the current leadership includes Frank and Desiree Bramwell.  The new chapter hopes to build a legacy of community members, farmers and ranchers stepping out to support the rising generation of agricultural leaders.

“We would really like to make it more of a community group than a parent group,” said Frank. “Of course, parents are welcome, but we want long-term supporters, such as local business owners and local farmers and ranchers rather than a group of parents that changes annually.”

The final day to purchase raffle tickets is March 28.  The raffle winner will be drawn April 12 at the Wyoming State FFA Convention in Cheyenne. The winner will not need to be present to win.
