Idaho State Police is investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred at 7:59 p.m. on April 10, 2025 on U.S. 26 north of Alpine.

According to ISP, the incident happened at milepost 401, which is about one mile north of the Idaho/Wyoming border near Palisade’s Reservoir. A 63-year-old male from Irwin was traveling eastbound in a white 2009 BMW 535 when he drove off the left shoulder of the road.

ISP said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Alpine EMS assisted in the incident, which remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
