The Lincoln County Commission officially ended a ban on Monday during a special commission meeting held in Afton. The restrictions had been in place since August 19.
“WHEREAS, the County Fire Warden has determined there has been sufficient decrease in fire danger within the County to warrant the rescission of fire restrictions;’ reads the resolution. “Now, therefore, be it resolved by the board of Lincoln County Commissioners that the fire restrictions of August 19, 2025, Resolution 2025-30, are lifted and removed immediately.”
Similar restrictions had been in place in the Bridger-Teton and Caribou-Targhee National Forests, but have also since been removed due to the cooler, wetter weather of late September.
