Star Valley Ranch completes roads, fiber and water projects in ‘25

With the end of summer comes completion of some of the road projects at Star Valley Ranch.
Trevor Aitken, Star Valley Ranch Administrator reports chip and seal work has been completed in Plat 21. He complimented the work of town staff with that and other road projects.
“Roads, it’s all about hiring the right people,” Aitken said. “Our staff has done an incredible job and we got a lot further along than what we would have if we contracted this out.”
Vista Drive was improved with excavation, along with chip and seal work during the summer season.
“I hope we can keep on paving and improving the quality of life for the residents,” Aitken advised.
Additional road work will continue in the spring.
Town fiber
In addition to road work, Silver Star Communications was completing installation of fiber lines in the Star Valley Ranch community this summer.
“They’re finishing everything south of Prater Canyon Road and south of Cedar Drive,” the mayor reported. “They only have the northern section, north of Clark to finish. Our residents are looking forward to that.”
Town water
Water system improvements are also continuing at Star Valley Ranch. “We are still working with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on a number of projects,” the mayor noted. “We have a project to line the Green Canyon water storage tank and that is something the EPA has been focused on.”
She continued, “We have a company that will put a lining on the outside of the tank and the inside of the tank as well. That will make the EPA happy, and it will give more life to that water storage tank.”
With some recent bad water samples, the town has opted to “voluntarily chlorinate the water system” as a precaution, the mayor reported. “We don’t want the EPA coming back and mandating what we are doing.”
Chlorination notices were sent to residents earlier in September.
The mayor continued, “Once we get the Green Canyon line done and then have a transmission line done from the Prater Spring; we are hoping that once we get those two projects done we can be done with the continual sampling of the water.”
