4-H Clubs host awards evening

Members of 4-H clubs from throughout North Lincoln County gathered last week to celebrate the achievements of their members over the last year. Twelve participants and supporters received 15 awards during the event.

The Lincoln County Extension office shared details of awards that were presented that evening.

Members who accumulated at least 19 achievement points during the year are invited to join the Wyoming 4-H Honors Club. The State 4-H Office awards these new honors club members with a silver University of Wyoming bucking horse tie tack or pendant. The Lincoln County 4-H Council awards them with their choice of a belt buckle, coat, or blanket. Recipients of this honor included Olivya Kleeman, Calvin Parsons, Baze Perry, Bridger Putnam and Jase Trauntvein.

Afton’s Red Baron Drive-In was recognized as a Friend of 4-H because of their “willingness to support the local 4-H program and members.”

Baze Perry was honored as the year’s Outstanding 4-H Member after being nominated as a senior 4-H member who is very active in the 4-H program.

Charlotte Parsons was presented with award as the Outstanding 4-H Leader. Nominated by Star Valley area 4-H members and leaders, “Charlotte has stepped up and taken over the Hooves ‘N Hides 4-H Club.”

Outstanding Junior Age Division Record Book honors went to Tyce Perry with Honorable Mention Junior Age Division Record Book going to Weston Lorimer.

Mason Lorimer was recognized for the Outstanding Intermediate Age Division Record Book, and Emilee Hirschi took home the Honorable Mention award in that category.

Baze Perry, Bridger Putnam and Porter Putnam, emerged with the honors for Outstanding Senior Age Division Record Book.

Shar Perry, who serves as Youth Educator with the Lincoln County Extension Office in Afton is pleased and proud of these individuals who remain dedicated to the 4-H organization. “I am so excited to celebrate the great success with all our 4-H members, 4-H families and leaders! I am honored to work with such a great community!”
