One with Christ and Libertas International partner for Country Dance Fundraiser to combat human trafficking

In a heartfelt effort to address human trafficking, One with Christ is joining forces with Libertas International for a country dancing fundraiser on Saturday, November 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Afton Civic Center. This event promises a lively evening filled with music and dance while also providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the fight against this urgent global issue.
The inspiration for this collaboration comes from Eliza Petty’s personal journey and dedication to service. “In eighth grade, I was in the Junior NHS and we did a fundraiser with Libertas. Then Tyler Schwab came and talked with us and said we could help save the girls, and that really stuck with me. The fact that we can actually make a difference in other people’s lives, a real, lasting difference. After that I decided I wanted to do all I could do. After that, me and my cousin started One With Christ,” Petty shared.
This group is committed to spreading Christ’s love and making a difference in both local and global communities. “We just want to share Christ’s love as much as possible. He reached out to individuals, but he also reached out to the entire world. For us, it is really important to reach out to individuals in the community and help people who are struggling in the community, but also larger world issues as much as possible,” she added.
The fundraiser will feature live music from a local band, refreshments, and a special address by Tyler Schwab, who has played a crucial role in raising awareness about human trafficking. “It will just be a fun night,” the organizers assured, highlighting the event’s dual focus on enjoyment and advocacy.
Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance via Venmo at @OneWithChrist or at the door on the night of the fundraiser. Tickets are priced at $15 for a single entry or $25 for two. The community is encouraged to attend, enjoy a night of country dancing, and support a cause that has the potential to change lives.
Eliza expressed, “We can’t all make a huge difference, but if we are all willing to do a little, we can make a big difference together.”
