SVI Radio Interview: Amber Schalk, Magic of Believing with Team Tetons
Amber Schalk called into the Weekday Wake-Up to promote the upcoming Magic of Believing event scheduled to take place at Star Valley Station on Saturday, December 13. Proceeds from the event benefit Team Tetons.

(0:12) Thank you so much for your time. (0:13) I’ve been looking forward to this really cool, unique event that’s (0:17) a fundraiser for Team Tetons. (0:18) So let’s start there.
(0:19) Tell us, what is Team Tetons? (0:22) Team Tetons is a group of women that have joined together to walk the (0:29) Susan G. Komen three-day, 60-mile walk yearly. (0:33) We started in 2008, had a short sabbatical and started back yearly in 2022. (0:40) So this will be some of our sixth walk.
(0:44) Some of us are doing it a second year. (0:47) So it’s just a group of women that are dedicated to fighting breast (0:51) cancer and finding a cure for that. (0:53) So it’s a fantastic cause with this event, goes to support you guys and your cause.
(0:58) We’ll circle back to Team Tetons in just a second, but first tell us about (1:02) the Magic of Believing event. (1:04) It has a Polar Express theme. (1:05) It’s really cool.
(1:06) What will happen here? (1:08) We are so excited for this event. (1:10) This will be our first event. (1:11) We are hoping that it will become an annual event.
(1:13) We are hosting it on the 13th. (1:16) It will be a viewing of the Polar Express. (1:19) If you’ve seen the movie, you know exactly why we chose this movie.
(1:23) The magic behind it, the belief behind it, and we will have cocoa. (1:29) We will have cookies that are actually designed to look like the tickets. (1:33) We will have a belief bell for everybody that registers, (1:37) and we will have Santa there.
(1:40) So we’re so, so excited about making this a memorable event, but (1:45) also helping fight a great cause. (1:47) So you mentioned Santa. (1:49) He’ll be there before the movie, right? (1:51) He’ll be there from 10 to noon, and then the movie starts at noon.
(1:54) Is that right? (1:55) That is correct. (1:56) Yes. (1:56) Perfect.
(1:57) So how do people get involved? (1:58) Do people just show up with their kids? (2:00) What other options are there? (2:03) How do people get to this? (2:05) We do have a limited seating, so we’re hoping that everybody (2:08) will pre-register for it. (2:10) Also, because of the personalized tickets that we want to offer to everyone, it (2:15) will take us some time for those to be printed, so we do prefer people pre-register. (2:21) And they can pre-register on a form that we have on our QR code with the poster (2:27) that you guys so graciously have posted on your site.
(2:32) It is also on our Facebook site. (2:34) I have posted it throughout the Valley as well. (2:36) They can reach out to me directly and I will get them that link.
(2:40) That is the best way, but if we do have seating still available, people (2:44) can walk up and register at the door. (2:46) They don’t get such specialized tickets because those do need to be pre-printed. (2:53) Amber Schalk this morning with Team Tetons and the All Aboard Magic of Believing (2:57) event, it’s at Star Valley Station in Afton, December 13th.
(3:00) Santa from 10 to noon and then showing of the Polar Express at noon. (3:04) And as you mentioned, you can find the flyer with the QR code at svinews.com (3:07) on the events page or the Team Tetons Facebook page. (3:11) So with Team Tetons and the great fundraiser event that this is, if (3:16) someone wanted to get involved with Team Tetons specifically, how do they do that? (3:22) Reach out to me.
(3:23) I would love to talk to them about it. (3:24) We do always have availability for them to join our team and we do have different (3:29) ways to help and donate if they’re interested in that. (3:31) And what’s the best way for people to contact you, Amber? (3:36) Probably my email address, which is my last name, S-C-H-A-L-K and then A-M-I at (3:42) gmail.com. (3:43) Perfect.
(3:44) Don’t miss the Magic of Believing event. (3:46) Sign up and register in advance. (3:48) Find the QR code on the Team Tetons Facebook page or on the events page of (3:51) svinews.com. (3:53) Amber, thank you for your time.
(3:54) Anything we missed you need to mention today? (3:56) I don’t think so. (3:57) Thank you so much, Duke. (3:58) It’s the Weekday Wake Up, SVI Radio.
