The following is a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office –
On the night of December 9, 2025, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident at a residence on Meadow Lark Lane in Grover.
Deputies made contact with an adult female victim and her four children after they fled the home. An eight-year-old child had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to Star Valley Health, where she was treated and released.
Due to information that the suspect, 40-year-old Chazz Lilly, remained inside the residence and was possibly armed. Lincoln County Deputies with assistance from the Wyoming Highway Patrol and Afton Police Department secured the area and made repeated efforts to communicate with Lilly. After receiving no response, deputies entered the home and located Mr. Lilly deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted injury. No deputies or additional civilians were harmed.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident. Support services and victim assistance resources have been offered to the family. No further information will be released at this time.
