Afton’s annual Star Valley Kids Got Talent at the Ford Theatre is calling for auditions. Star Valley residents in grades 6-8 are invited to submit their auditions online. All auditions are due in video format by midnight, Sunday, February 15. No late submissions will be accepted.
Offering a $500 grand prize as well as other exciting prizes, the competition is geared toward kids who want to share any talent that can be performed on the Ford stage. “Whether it’s singing, dancing, comedy, magic, or something totally unique, we want kids to know their creativity matters and that Star Valley is a place that supports and celebrates them,” said Brandon Burnham, representing Salt River Arts.
Finalists will have the opportunity to present their act live on stage at the Ford on Saturday, March 14 at 7 p.m. “This event is all about giving our local youth a chance to step into the spotlight, build confidence, and share their talents with the community,” said Burnham.
To audition, kids should have their parents help them submit a video recording of their act to SaltRiverArts.com. The application document must be filled out completely and signed by a parent or guardian. Rules and expectations are part of the application documents and must be strictly followed for kids to be able to compete.
Some important guidelines for participation, which can all be found at the audition link, include using the same act on the stage as you submitted for the audition and attending two mandatory dress rehearsals. Performance finalists will be announced by February 22. Though three judges will offer feedback to the contestants during the show, the winner will be chosen by audience vote.
“This is our fourth year, and we have loved seeing your talents and watching you grow,” said Brandon Burnham, show producer. “It’s your chance to shine! Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to be part of something special!”
