The Town of Afton has announced that discussions regarding the Silver Brook Estates Major Subdivision Application, originally scheduled for February 2 and February 10, 2026, will be postponed to March. This decision follows a request from the applicant to delay the public hearing.
On January 28, 2026, town officials received a letter from the applicant seeking this delay.
The Afton Planning and Zoning Board will now gather public input, feedback, and protests at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, in the large conference room at Afton Town Hall.
Additionally, a second hearing will be held by the Afton Town Council at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the same location, Afton Town Hall.
The submitted application includes a Master Plan and a Traffic Impact Study, both of which will be available for public review at Town Hall before the meetings.
Community members are encouraged to attend and participate, as public input will be integral to the subdivision review process and may influence future development and infrastructure decisions in Afton. Afton Town Administrator Violet Sanderson noted that comments can be made in person at the revised hearing date or submitted in writing until that date.
