Star Valley Health Auxiliary hosts annual Valentine’s Dinner and Bingo

The Star Valley Health Auxiliary is hosting its annual Valentine’s Day Bingo night on Friday, February 13, in the Afton Civic Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with Bingo beginning at 6:30. Proceeds from this event benefit the Star Valley Health Auxiliary in providing the hospital and community with valuable health and medical tools.
“The auxiliary provides volunteer services for the hospital,” explained Andra Parmenter, who serves as Director of Volunteer Services with Star Valley Health. Through grants that are provided to hospital departments, the Auxiliary offers the opportunity to those departments to purchase and provide items and services that the hospital does not have the budget to provide.
“In the past, they have funded a lift for the care center to help lift patients safely,” Parmenter explained. “They have provided water bottle drinking fountains for therapy services. For infusion, they have provided pumps that allow people to go home and receive their therapy throughout the day at home. These are things that benefit the community through the hospital.”
Entry to the event offers a pot roast meal with mashed potatoes, gravy, cooked carrots, bottled water, and dessert. Light music will be provided by local award-winning vocalist Josh Jardine, and guests can enjoy eight games of Bingo, including two blackout games with “big cash prizes.”
Additional offerings at the event include a silent auction, children’s raffles, door prizes and a bake sale.
Tickets are $20 at the door for an individual meal and Bingo, or $70 for a family of six. Extra Bingo Packets of 8 are $5 each or Single Bingo Cards are $1. Bingo Dauber is $2. The event team gladly accepts cash, credit card, and Tap.
“Not only does this benefit a good cause, but I have to say, this event is incredibly fun,” said Parmenter. “Last year, people were in very high spirits and having a great time. We look forward to having you join us!”
