SWAN VALLEY — U.S. Highway 26 was blocked on Tuesday afternoon after a semitruck overturned on icy, winter roads.
According to a Facebook post from the Idaho State Police, officers are currently on the scene of an overturned semitruck near milepost 388, approximately 15 miles east of Swan Valley and not far from the Wyoming border near Alpine.
Idaho 511 says multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, but the number is not clear.
Witnesses say the crash happened around 12:15 p.m.
Officials say motorists should expect delays. If you are in the area, police ask that you slow down and watch for emergency personnel. Idaho State Police and the Swan Valley Fire District are both on scene, attempting to clear the road.
