Jesica Lozier, Director of the Fossil Basin Chamber of Commerce, called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Thursday, March 26 to promote the chamber’s upcoming “Easter Hop” and other items impacting the chamber.

(0:00) Jessica, good morning, how are you doing today? (0:02) Good. (0:03) Okay, good, appreciate your time as always (0:05) and updating us on what’s happening (0:07) with the Fossil Basin Chamber. (0:08) Of course, the next big event (0:10) that the chamber is hosting on Easter weekend next weekend (0:13) is the Easter Hop, is what it’s being called.

(0:16) So tell us about this, how’s it going to work? (0:18) Yeah, so it’s on April 4th, (0:21) it’ll be down at Triangle Park. (0:22) The Easter Bunny will be in the cabin (0:26) for part of it available for pictures with kids. (0:30) He’ll walk around the Triangle to the businesses.

(0:32) There’ll be some fun games (0:34) and the movie Hop at the theater. (0:37) And we’re doing a shop local that day. (0:40) And so there’ll be several businesses throughout town (0:43) that have Easter eggs hidden in them.

(0:46) And it’s kind of an adult Easter egg hunt. (0:49) So if you’re in the store and you find an egg (0:51) inside of it will be a coupon (0:54) or a giveaway to one of the other stores in town. (0:57) So you might be in Nelson’s (1:01) and you might get a free coupon to the Opera House (1:04) or in the coffee shop and get a free coupon to Tinsky’s.

(1:08) And so most of the downtown businesses (1:10) are participating in that. (1:12) And it’s just a shopping event (1:14) and something fun to do while the kids are at the theater. (1:18) Awesome, okay.

(1:19) So again, the free movie is at one o’clock (1:22) at the Victory Theater (1:23) and showing that movie with the Easter egg Hop (1:27) happening downtown 11 to three on the 4th of April. (1:32) Jessica Lozier with the Fossil Basin Chamber of Commerce (1:34) on the Weekday Wake Up. (1:35) Jessica, anything else happening with the chamber (1:37) you’d like to mention while we have you today? (1:40) Yeah, we finally took possession back of our, (1:44) we own a billboard outside of town.

(1:47) And so our members are gonna start getting a discount (1:50) on advertising on that billboard. (1:52) And we’re just ramping up the visitor center (1:55) with some new publications and visitor’s guide (1:58) to prepare for the tourism season coming in May. (2:01) All right, and how does someone just reach out (2:04) to the chamber if they have questions on the billboard then? (2:07) Yes, yep, just reach out to the chamber (2:08) and chamber members will be getting an email (2:11) that describes the program in the next month.
