More Tickets Available for the Temple Square Visitors’ Center ‘Inside a Temple’ Tour

Beginning June 1, tickets will be released in batches every other Monday, with reservations available up to 75 days in advance
Following the opening of the new Temple Square Visitors’ Center in May, free tickets for the facility’s popular “Inside a Temple” guided tour are being released in biweekly batches. Beginning June 1, 2026, and continuing every other Monday, the rolling reservation window has been extended, allowing guests to secure their tour spots up to 75 days in advance.
As a reminder, while the rest of the visitors’ center exhibits remain open for open walk-ins, reservations are required exclusively for this 30-minute guided tour.
If tickets are currently unavailable, you can check back during an upcoming biweekly release or download the official app to receive notifications when new slots open.
- Cost: Admission and tours are free.
- How to Book: Reservations (required only for the “Inside a Temple” guided tour) can be made online at TempleSquare.org or directly through the Temple Square app (available on Apple and Android devices).
All are welcome to experience the center’s interactive exhibits that show how temples are sacred spaces rooted in faith, family, service, and promises to God. The visitors’ center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Salt Lake Temple Celebration: April 5, 2027, through October 1, 2027
The visitors’ center opening is a significant milestone ahead of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration, scheduled from April 5, 2027, through October 1, 2027.
All are welcome to visit Temple Square as construction continues and additional areas reopen ahead of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration, when visitors can tour the inside of the sacred structure. Reservations for Salt Lake Temple Open House tours will be available on September 1, 2026.
For more information, visit the Temple Square website.
The 39,800-square-foot facility features several immersive experiences:
- Sacred Artwork: A replica of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s “Christus” stands in the west wing, while Christian Bolt’s Carrara marble sculpture, “Come Unto Me,” rests at the center of the lower level connecting both wings.
- “Inside a Temple” Tour (Lower Level): A guided 30-minute experience leading guests through full-scale replicas of sacred temple rooms — including a welcome desk, baptistry, instruction room, sealing room, and celestial room. (Note: These are built to full temple standards but are not replicas of rooms inside the Salt Lake Temple.)
- Salt Lake Temple Scale Model (East Wing): A five-minute presentation in which the walls of a historic scale model mechanically open to reveal interior rooms, accompanied by narration and music that explain temple worship.
- Temples around the World (Lower Level): Located on the lower level, a display of 11 built-to-scale miniature temples represents the global footprint of houses of the Lord. A nearby temple globe connects worship with God’s plan for Latter-day Saints and their families.
The center traces a 179-year legacy on the square, continuing a long tradition of welcoming the public that first began with volunteer guides in 1875.
