The Thayne Fire Department and other first responders from Star Valley EMS were on the scene of a pair of accidents in the area on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday a two-vehicle accident in a t-bone style took place by the the turnoff to Star Valley Ranch from US 89. One woman was transported for medical care.
Fire Chief Tedd Jenkins noted that airbags had been deployed and seat belts were in use.
“A lot of the accidents we’re seeing are due in part to increased traffic flows,” he said.
The Thayne crew and ambulances from the Star Valley EMS were also on scene to a single-vehicle rollover on Tuesday just across the Idaho border on Tin Cup road.
“There was no extraction for either crash so we were able to get them out without using any tools, “Jenkins added. “That’s a bonus.”
Two ambulances from Star Valley EMS were on scene for both responses. One passenger was transported for medical care from the rollover accident.
Both accidents are still under investigation from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
