There has been a lot of talk amongst mothers and women in the community this past year about the need for continued support for pregnant and recent mothers in the area. Pro Love & Light hopes to help fill some of those needs in the area with the leadership of Vicky Little and Maria Nicholas. Little serves as Chief Mama Advocate, alongside Nicholas.

In the past, Little has spearheaded events to help children and parents learn about nutrition and that finding healthy meals can be fun. Little shared that with the past work done on the nutrition side and with the closing of Azar Pregnancy Center, that her and Nicholas “looked at the incredible way our Star Valley community already rallies around one another, it became obvious: a club of ladies supporting ladies was the next natural step.”

Many fairgoers may have noticed the booth for Pro Love & Light. They had a corner booth that was focused on getting the word out of the new organization as well as having a drawing for a pink record player for those who had signed up to receive information about classes that will be held through the organization. Classes include cooking, budgeting, navigating motherhood and more. The booth also allowed for mothers in the community to share what talents they might bring to the group to help others in the future.

When asked about the number of women who signed up, Little shared that there were 105 who wanted to have more information on the classes in the future and that she was “Absolutely-and yet not at all” surprised with how many there were. “We love the strong community spirit here in Star Valley and remain in awe of the generous hearts and many talents of the ladies in this valley. The response confirmed what we already sensed: moms are hungry for connection, practical help, and encouragement.”

As the organization continues to progress and begin classes, they plan to send out a short survey to better understand what moms are in need of the most, so they can plan the classes based on what is needed and get dates and times finalized.

“Our vision is that Pro Love & Light grows into a vibrant, welcoming circle where every young mom in Star Valley feels supported, valued, and equipped. We want each woman to know she is not alone, to gain confidence in managing her home, and to shine brightly as she walks in the love of Jesus – encouraging other mothers along the way so that the light of this community grows even stronger.”

Little invites any mothers that are interested in being a part of the group, sharing your talents, or learning more about Pro Love & Light to call or message her at 307-226-5245.
