• Second offensive honor of Lauterwasser’s career – third overall
Wyoming’s Paige Lauterwasser was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon, as announced by the league office. It is Lauterwasser’s third-career Mountain West player of the week honor and second offensive nod.
Lauterwasser helped lead the Cowgirls to a 2-0 weekend to start 2026 at the UW Rumble in the Rockies. Lauterwasser, who eclipsed 1,000 career points in Sunday’s sweep over St. Thomas, led the Cowgirls with 27 kills (3.86 per set) and 4.14 points per set over the weekend while hitting an even .500. In Friday’s four-set victory over Texas Tech, Lauterwasser recorded 14 kills, 13 digs and hit .423. Against the Tommies, she added 13 kills and hit .600.
It is Wyoming’s first Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honor since October 28, 2024, when Lauterwasser was also honored. Lauterwasser and the rest of the Cowgirls are travelling to Utah this weekend for the Utah Classic with matches Friday, Saturday and Sunday. UW opens the tourney Friday night at 7 p.m., against the host-Utes.
