Facilities Management at Lincoln County School District #2 is tasked with maintaining school buildings and grounds throughout Star Valley and Cokeville. Members of the Facilities Department spend the summer dedicated to preparing school property to support the district’s mission in educating students with excellence.

This summer, as in years past, the LCSD#2 custodial and maintenance teams were responsible for preparing “360,000 square feet of district facilities, along with over 90 acres of manicured grounds and irrigation systems,” said Warren Hicks, who serves as LCSD #2 Director of Maintenance. “Their dedication ensures that our schools are clean, safe, and ready to welcome students each fall.”

“As we begin the new school year, we are especially excited to launch a new initiative within the Facilities Department,” said Hicks. “Our goal is to help reduce student absences by reducing the spread of illness throughout our schools.”

Facilities team members have researched cutting-edge cleaning strategies and invested in enhanced sanitation products, including new equipment, designed to improve the effectiveness of cleaning and disinfecting practices.

Hicks is pleased with the initiative and has high hopes that the new regimen with support students and staff in maintaining healthy attendance.  “We are optimistic that these improvements will create healthier learning environments, helping keep students in school where they can learn from our outstanding teachers.”

Hicks expressed sincere appreciation to each member of the Facilities Department staff for “their hard work and commitment throughout another successful summer. Their dedication makes a lasting difference for our students, staff, and community, and we look forward to building on that success and celebrating even more accomplishments in the year ahead.”
