Lincoln County School District #2 is part of the network of schools nationwide offering continued access to nutritious meals for qualifying students through the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program during the 2026–2027 school year.

According to a press release provided by the Food Services Department with LCSD #2, families are invited to apply to the program so that students who qualify, based on household income and household size, for free or reduced-price meals, can benefit from increased access to affordable nutrition. All families are encouraged to complete a free and reduced-price meal application, as all applications increase the accuracy of statistical calculations regarding the need for these services.

Eligibility guidelines for the 2026-27 school year are effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, and apply to all Wyoming schools participating in the federal school meal programs.  Families are invited to refer to the graph that accompanies this article to determine if their student qualifies for the reduced or free meal pricing.

Free-meal guidelines represent 130% of the federal poverty guidelines, while the reduced-price guidelines represent 185% of those guidelines.

To apply for free or reduced-price school meals at any time during the school year, families may visit lcsd2.org. Choose the Family and Students dropdown menu and then select Free and Reduced Meal Application Instructions. Families can also download and print an application from the website, or they can pick up a physical application at any school location, including the district office building, fill it out, and return to it any building in the district.

“Parents or guardians who have questions about eligibility or need assistance completing an application are encouraged to contact the school or district office,” said the press release. “School meals provide students with nutritious food to help support their health, well-being, and ability to learn.”
