DeAnna Sue Hopkins
DeAnna Sue Hopkins graduated from this life September 6, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 16, 1944 to Jesse A and Velda Ranzenberg Hurd. Sue grew up in Auburn Wyoming on the Hurd Ranch. She enjoyed riding horses, putting up hay as one of nine children and enjoying the country life.
Sue married Lester Gene Hopkins. Three sons joined their family Kenneth (Nicole), Marcos and Matt.
Sue attended elementary school in Auburn, Wyoming and graduated from Star Valley High, with the class of 1962. She then graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah with a degree in business. She worked in Arizona and later went to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI. She also worked in the Bureau of Statistics for the State of Idaho and for Idaho State University.
Sue was an expert crocheter, gardener, cook, friend, temple worker and was always aware of and helping anyone in need.
She received recognition from The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints for being one of the top ten genealogical indexers.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Gene Hopkins, her parents, Jesse and Velda Hurd and by one granddaughter, Lavina Sue Hopkins. She is survived by her sons Matt. Kenneth and Marcos and her siblings:

Tim Smith
Timothy Allen Smith, age 54, of Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming, formerly of Granbury, Texas, passed away on September 14, 2026. He was born on September 9, 1972, in Stephenville, Texas, to Norman and Peggy Lynn (Alexander) Smith. Tim married Carrie (Atchison) Smith December 15, 2007 and has 3 children, River, Canyon, and Sierra.
Tim was a 1991 graduate of Granbury High School and 1995 graduate of Baylor University, and was a pilot employed by NetJets. While he was in Granbury he was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and since moving to Wyoming, a member of Emmanuel Bible Church. He led by example and followed God’s teaching, always willing to give to anyone in need with both his time and money.
Tim lived a life filled with outdoor adventures, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, hunting and traveling. He also enjoyed sharing those passions with his entire family.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Lynn Smith.
He is survived by his wife Carrie, children River, Canyon, and Sierra; his father Norman, sisters Tracey Campbell and husband Scott, Tamara Martin and husband Aaron; sister-in-law Carmen Davis; in-laws Donald and Darlene Atchison; nieces and nephews Kayla Campbell, Cody Campbell, Lauren Martin, Tanner Martin, and Cale Davis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 6-8 PM at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, TX. Funeral service will be held at Lakeside Baptist Church on Friday, Sept. 25 at 2 PM with Mark Forrest and Scott Pace officiating. Burial will follow in Granbury Cemetery.
