Lower Valley Energy will be working with a contractor to replace an aging transmission pole in Tin Cup Canyon near Wayan, Idaho. As part of this work, a Black Hawk helicopter will be used to transport poles and equipment to the structure location.
According to LVE, “the contractor will establish a staging area near the mouth of Tin Cup Canyon, where the helicopter will pick up poles and equipment. Up to five round trips are expected during the operation.”
LVE also noted that residents and motorists along Idaho Highway 34, particularly within approximately five miles west of the intersection with County Road 114, may see the helicopter operating at low elevations and hear increased aircraft noise.
“Using a helicopter allows us to safely access difficult terrain and replace aging infrastructure as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the reliability of our electric system,” stated LVE CEO Bear Prairie. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this important work is completed.”
