Louis L’Amour probably never knew Samuel Ebenezer Draney, but when the renowned author of Americana wrote about “the man who was ranching,… the man who was opening up the country,” he may well have been describing one of Star Valley’s earliest pioneers – and a legacy considered a “sacred trust” by his posterity.
