As of 3 p.m. Monday, May 3, the number of laboratory-confirmed coronavirus cases seen since the disease was first diagnosed in the state in mid-March stood at 49,224, an increase of 372 cases over the 48,535 reported on April 26.

The greatest increase in confirmed coronavirus cases within the past week was again in Laramie County, which reported an increase of 68 cases. Sweetwater County had 64 new cases; Albany County reported 52 new cases; Park County recorded 35 new cases; Uinta County saw 27 new cases; Campbell County had 20; Carbon recorded 17 new cases; Natrona and Teton had 15; Sublette County had 12; Fremont County saw its case count increase by 11; Sheridan County reported 10 new cases; Big Horn saw eight; Lincoln County recorded six new cases; Washakie County had four; Platte County had three; Hot Springs had two, and Converse, Goshen, Niobrara and Weston counties each had one.

Due to a re-examination of data, the number of confirmed cases in Johnson County went down by one.

The number of active coronavirus cases in the state was 441, an increase of 31 cases over the 410 active cases reported last week.
